This is the third surgery I have had on this hip. (The two previous surgeries were not with Barrington orthopedics) I am only half a day postop, and I can literally stand on my bad leg (like a stork) without pain. I can’t believe that previous doctors put me through the agony of attempting to repair a terribly damaged joint when all I needed was to get it replaced. I am in less pain right now than I was a hour before the surgery. Besides the quality of care and the fact that I can now walk again without pain (other than some surgical pain), Dr. Alvi and his team were kind, compassionate, took time to listen, answered my questions, and put me at ease. There was recently a tragic loss in my family, and Dr. Al even reached out to my family member to console her and let her know that I was OK so she wouldn’t continue to worry about me. I view today as a miracle. I know I will need a replacement of my other hip and in a heartbeat, I will be back here.

Dr Alvin was very patient with me as a new patient. He read the X-rays to provide me photos of my current state of my knees. He clearly let me know of my options and let me make the choice. I chose to get cortisone shots in both knees and followup with him in three months. Great bedside manner!

I saw Dr Alvi today to discuss my second knee replacement. I am 5mos post first knee replacement. Dr Alvi is so professional, knowledgeable and not quick to act on surgery…he offers options and support. Together we decided to wait for my second surgery. I so appreciate his direction and candor. Will eventually have the second knee replaced, but for now, I will wait. Grateful Dr Alvi supports my decision. Wonderful surgeon!

Dr Alvi is one of my favorite doctors. Besides being exceptionally skilled in his area of expertise he makes you feel like a human being and he takes the time to listen, answer questions and provide responses that do not require you to be a medical professional to understand.

I am a little over 2 weeks postop for a total hip replacement. Dr. Alvi and his staff were absolutely wonderful. Dr.Alvi has a wonderful bedside manner. He is very attentive. I never felt rushed when visiting his office and he answered all my questions. He actually contacted me the night before to check in on me. I had very minimal pain after the procedure. I would recommend him to any who is contemplating hip or knee replacement.

Dr. Alvi is Awesome. My husband was supposed to have surgery last year. Because of his insurance he had to find a new doctor. Dr. Alvi took one look at his x-rays and everything was scheduled. We received copies of the x-rays so his primary care doctor could see what was going on. Dr. Alvi sat down and explained everything. He didn't just walk in , say I'm doing surgery and walk out. He sat down one on one and explained everything. The office staff are so nice and helpful. We definitely recommend Barrington Orthopedics and Dr. Alvi.
